What is a Cash Back Site?

These are sites that allow you to shop online as normal at many of your favorite retailers and receive cashback or other rewards such as points for doing so. It is a simple process and all you have to ensure is that when you shop online you do it through the cashback site. These cashback sites and online reward programs receive a percentage from the retailer when you click and shop (buy something) through these sites.

    For example....
Target.com pays Mr. Rebates 10% of your total
And Mr. Rebates then in turn pays you 8% rebate on what you buy
So Target gets the sale = $50.00
    Mr. Rebates gets $5.00 = 10%
    And you get $4.00 = 8%
That leaves Mr. Rebates making 2% = $1.00 after you get paid.
The payout is $10.00 which is really low and that is great!
Payout definition = the minimum amount you must accumulate in your account before requesting a payment.
Below is a short video that explains it a little better than I can.

Once the retailer confirms your purchase the cashback site receives that commission from the retailer and passes a portion or all of it onto you as cashback or rewards. In a way using a cashback site is a bit like using a CVS card just better. I have been using cashback sites for over three years now and have received payments and points from each one that I have referral link for below. In my experience, earning cashback for shopping online is a great way to save money on things you are going to buy anyway.

A hint; before you check out run a google search for codes. Type in the Google or Yahoo search bar the name of your store plus the word code, i.e.; "Target code" then just hightlight and copy the best code you find and insert it into the box where it asks for a promo code. Make sure you don't click through a new link though or it will override the cashback site. Mr. Rebates (obviously my favorite) searches the codes for you.

To get the most bang for your online buck try this. It is beneficial to you to join multiple cash back sites. The reason is because not all cashback sites offer the same percentage of cash back. For example: Let's say you are shopping at drugstore.com you can get a 9% rebate from Big Crumbs and Mr. Rebates but Ebates only offers you 6% cash back. So you would choose to buy through Big Crumbs or Mr. Rebates for that particular purchase. Now Ebates has their strong points too. An example of that is if you are shopping at Sephora you will get an 8% rebate from Ebates but only a 4.5% rebate from Big Crumbs. If this all sounds complicated I have found a tool that will make it much less frustrating. You can find it at evreward.com. It has a search bar where you can type in the store you want to buy from and it will give you the breakdown of who will offer you the most back.

Ebay recently started to offer their own cash back program that they call eBay Bucks. If you have an eBay account you are eligible to participate. I believe you need to opt in to begin earning. You earn your eBay bucks just by buying things off of eBay as you normally do then you will get a gift certificate to use each month for the amount you have earned. The great thing about this program is that you can earn your eBay bucks but you can also continue to earn cash back at BigCrumbs and Ebates. Big Crumbs gives you 36% of the seller fees and Ebates gives you 1% of the purchase price. So choose which ever one of those cash back sites to click through for your purchase in addition to the eBay Bucks you will already earn automatically just by shopping on Ebay. Here is what an eBay Bucks certificate looks like - click here

I hope this all makes sense. It may be overwhelming at first but you will get the hang of it and it will all be second nature to you very soon. You will love the checks they send you. I just got $28.00 from Mr. Rebates and $30.00 from Ebates this past month and you have no idea how much that helped me out. Please consider joining the cash back sites through my referral links below and as always if you have any questions I am just an email away. Contact me here or use the email button below.
